Incorporating culinary experiences into our science-based approach just makes sense to me.  The most satisfying part of my job is developing programs and tools that make a positive difference on the health of our communities by instilling confidence through the kitchen.

With a background in the retail setting as a Supermarket RDN, I understand the struggle consumers have navigating the aisles and cooking at home. Through my work in the Living Plate test kitchen, I guide you to use foods that positively impact your health. As nutrition experts, dietitians have the science-based knowledge – translating this knowledge into delicious recipes is my greatest joy! When eating can be healthy, simple, and tasty, meeting your health goals is a cinch and life-long behavioral changes stick.

I am frequently in the community doing cooking demonstrations and presentations with our community partners and for our research projects.

When I am not at Living Plate, I continue working in the kitchen testing new recipes for my blog, RDelicious Kitchen.

Private Practice: NutritiousYou

I was drawn to nutrition and dietetics early in my life – I am a certified foodie! I grew up with organic vegetables from my backyard that were incorporated into healthy home-cooked meals each and every day. While I have a background in oncology and cardiovascular disease prevention and management, I also enjoy working with younger children and adolescents.

Truthfully, I could TELL you what to do – my education has prepared me for that. But if I can SHOW you what to do and HOW to do it – now that is where we will see behavior change. I love the idea of shedding light on those boundaries that may be preventing you from achieving your wellness goals.

Private Practice

Motivated to provide a healthy diet for my family, but confused by the conversation around what foods were “good” or “bad” foods, I decided to make a mid-life career change to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Today, with my evidence-based training, I emphasize a balanced plate filled with nourishing whole foods as well as convenient and delicious ways to prepare them.

I want to take the judgement, and guilt out of your relationship with food. I strongly believe that your diet should fit your life, not the other way around. In our sessions we will talk about what you enjoy eating and how we can reinvent your favorites to support your goals. Working together, we will build new habits and create practical solutions for roadblocks that are holding you back. No quick fixes, no dramatic diets that turn your life upside-down – just small, sustainable changes that will set you up for long-term success.

I recently finished my Master of Science degree in nutrition communication and behavior change from the Tufts University School of Nutrition Science and Policy. I am now in the Didactic Program in Dietetics at Simmons College, where I am studying to become a Registered Dietitian.

Prior to moving to Boston, I graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Italian. I wrote my senior thesis on a culturally significant Italian cookbook. After college, I was the Marketing and Public Relations Manager for Great Performances, a leading New York City catering and event planning company with its own organic farm.

My pursuits are built on the idea that good health can be achieved through good nutrition. Studying Italian culture and spending time with my Italian and Portuguese relatives has illuminated the value of simple and fresh ingredients, cooking at home, and the shared experience of dining.

Academic degrees:
  • Master of Science, Nutrition and Health Behavior Change, Tufts University School of Nutrition Science and Policy, February 2018
  • Bachelor of Arts, Italian, cum laude, Princeton University
Professional:
  • Current role as Nutrition Intern for Boston College Dining Services

  • Previous experience as Marketing Intern for Oldways, nutrition education nonprofit
  • Previous experience as Kitchen Assistant for Bon Me, Vietnamese food trucks and restaurants
